Scope of Work

(1) Vendor needs to provide joint-regent commodity data storage service to the government authority located in Iowa City, IA. • Chassis and power:- Dual/redundant power supplies are required.- All storage trays must support hot-swap and must not introduce double disk failures upon removal (single pool disk per tray).- 1U, 2U, or 4U chassis.• Drive controllers:- Onboard SAS controllers must have the ability to disable onboard RAID if present.- External drive controllers must be configurable/flash-upgradeable to vanilla HBA configurations (no RAID-0 pass-through solutions), as the filesystem manages its own RAID/parity/disk health.• Hard disk drives:- Supplier must use enterprise-class hard drives; no SMR drives.- HDD options must be compatible with both ZFS and distributed filesystem use (no host-managed SMR or vendor-locked firmware that prevents standard SCSI/SAS commands).• Operating system disks:- Enterprise-class 2× SSD, mirrored.- Minimum capacity: 240 GB. 480 GB option must be available.• Density and footprint:- Reference target for ZFS profile: at least 336 hard disk drives per 32U of space.- Disk arrangement across chassis must efficiently utilize space within chassis and cabinet.• Network connectivity (Baseline):- Two or more 25 Gb or faster dedicated onboard Ethernet network interfaces.• Rack cabinet: All equipment must fit in our current data center equipment racks, with maximum dimensions of 79 inches high, 27.5 inches wide, and 48 inches deep (feet must be within 48 inches front to back, doors may exceed 48 inches).(2) All the questions must be submitted no later than July 1, 2026.
